About Us
End Connecticut’s Blue Laws is a grassroots movement to allow the sale of wine, beer, and spirits on Sunday. Currently, Connecticut is the only state in the Northeast that does not allow the Sunday sale of alcoholic beverages in neighborhood grocery and package stores.
Lifting this antiquated blue law prohibition will mean more convenience for consumers and new sales tax revenue for the state. These additional tax revenues could help save vital programs that are currently on the chopping block including senior meals, home heating assistance, the Child Lead Poisoning Account, and funding for community health centers.
Most retail businesses are 7 day a week operations. It is time to allow consumers to conveniently purchase alcoholic beverages on what has become the busiest shopping day of the week.
The primary supporter of End Connecticut’s Blue Laws is the Connecticut Food Association.
